I have a holistic and mindful approach when working with individuals and couples to explore the complexities of their relationships with themselves and their significant others.
My
intention is to help you make sense of your personal and relationship challenges. I will facilitation you to define your struggle, understand your patterns, recognize alternatives, and improve your capacity to grow and accept change with greater self-awareness.
I also work with grief, anxiety, trauma, concerns around developmental life transitions, as well as issues surrounding cultural adjustment and identity. While change is often an opportunity for significant growth, it is not uncommon to feel overwhelmed by the internal and external pressures that arise when adjusting to change and losses. I provide a supportive and collaborative space in which to explore your thoughts, feelings and questions that arise around transitions.
My interest in psychology and human behavior evolved from being immersed in eastern and western cultures while growing up and a desire to make meaning from complexity and paradox. I was born a U.S. citizen in Vietnam, and have lived in the United States, Burma, Thailand, Turkey and China. My diverse life experiences and multicultural upbringing inform my ability to embrace paradox and respond empathically to individual, family and cultural systems.
I take a whole-person approach when facilitating psychotherapy and will encourage you to consider a bigger vision of your life.
My theoretical framework is a combination of insight/depth-oriented, relational, cross-cultural, cognitive and somatic(body-oriented) psychotherapy approaches. It is my belief that transformation and healing ultimately rest within us all. Therapy is a journey toward living more fully and reclaiming peace and wholeness. I do not presume to have the answers or know what is right for you. My job is to help you understand yourself as deeply as possible, so that you live and embrace your relationship with yourself and others in a way that is healthy, vibrant and meaningful for you.
