I know sharing with someone can be difficult and scary. It takes courage to allow someone to join you in your stuff. I use approaches to therapy that I believe in with my whole being because I have seen the effects. I use EMDR in combination with the  Humanist approach  to the therapy process.  I enjoy working with young adults, adults, couples, and families.  I have worked successfully with clients to increase their own understanding of themselves and their life choices. I have worked with individuals who have longstanding issues, and those who are experiencing a singular life crisis. I have found that everyone benefits from a closer look at themselves and their circumstances.
EMDR
I have used EMDR and I have achieved a deeper self-awareness having received the training for EMDR. I have found that EMDR facilitates an abbreviated healing process for a bunch of hurts, but it can only be helpful if you are ready for change.

Effective, Brief Treatment

Clients who have experienced a single-event trauma or a single class of events are relatively easy to treat with EMDR. Controlled research has found that approximately 85% to 100% of those with this class of civilian PTSD can be effectively treated in the equivalent of three 90-minute sessions.

There is Hope for You

EMDR incorporates an overview that human beings are adaptive, and because of this relatively few clients are permanently damaged.

What does a humanist therapist do?
That means I get to know you; we develop a relationship. I do my best to avoid making any assumptions or have an agenda. We'll take it slow, so we can work on all of the pieces of your life and get to know each other.  It means that I believe in you and your inherent value, goodness, and self-worth. Together, we will work toward a better understanding of your life.
