I graduated from the University of Oslo, Norway as a Clinical Psychologist in 1995. Over the past 20 years I have had many wonderful experiences with my clinical work.   My interest span from therapy, to research, to public presentations, workshops and to building my own practice from the ground up.  I truly enjoy the field of human relations,  and believe that psychological treatments are highly effective in treating serious conditions via evidence-based interventions, through correct diagnosis and careful treatment plans.

My interest in psychology was sparked at a very early age due to a rich cultural tapestry and exposure to many different peoples, religions and food traditions. I lived in Norway for 35 years, and I speak Norwegian fluently, as well as English, Katchi and Gujerati.  My greatest pride and joy are my two children:  a daughter (22) and a son (17), and it has been the greatest privilege to have travelled extensively through Europe, India and East Africa with my family.

My therapeutic style is very personal and genuine, but non-confrontational and civil. I very much enjoy connecting with people from all walks of life and find people's stories quite mesmerizing. I welcome you to your counselling journey and truly hope you find the support and growth you deserve.

I am a Master’s Level Clinician trained at Yorkville University and I stress the importance of working collaboratively with clients, tailoring sessions depending on the client’s specific needs. I use a Cognitive-Behavioural and Solutions Focused Approach with my clients.

I work part-time so that I can be involved in different volunteer initiatives including my latest one - Wellspring Edmonton, a cancer support centre for individuals, their families and caregivers so no one has to go through cancer alone. My husband and I love to entertain and cooking is a passion of mine.

I recently completed my coursework for a Masters in Counseling Psychology and am in the process of gaining provisional status with the College of Alberta Psychologist.  I take on a holistic approach to therapy, beginning with the client’s presenting concerns and encouraging one to explore and uncover hidden strengths and capabilities to be applied to present and future goals. I look forward to supporting individuals in achieving their goals in a hopeful and positive therapeutic environment.

I am a psych intern near completion of a Master’s degree in counselling psychology from the University of Alberta. I will be seeking registration as a counsellor and provisional psychologist this spring, and I am also working toward certification as a holistic nutritionist.

My view of mental health stems from a belief that true health is holistic and comes when one’s body, mind, and spiritual life are all working in harmony. Thus, in order to do my best to help individuals achieve this, I borrow from a variety of counselling techniques, such as narrative therapies, emotion focused therapies, mindfulness practices, and therapeutic lifestyle changes. My practice is grounded in the theories of health psychology, constructivism, and therapeutic assessment. I recognize that everyone is unique and tailor a treatment plan based on individual strengths.

I am a single mom and spend the majority of my free time with my daughter. My own holistic health practices include gardening, dancing, and pet therapy with my three dogs.

I am a provisionally registered psychologist and I obtained my Master’s degree at Athabasca University. My counselling experience has been focused on working with adolescents, children, and families as well as individual adults. My therapeutic approach with families stems from an attachment-based and systems perspective. This style of therapy emphasizes the importance of supportive relationships and works toward growth and healing through healthy connection. In my work with individual children, adolescents, and adults I utilize an eclectic approach. Every individual is unique, and utilizing a variety of approaches allows a therapist to meet the distinct needs of the client. The relationship between the therapist and client is of the utmost importance as it allows for the creation of a safe space in which to explore, grow, and move forward. I believe in the importance of a holistic approach to mental health and I strive to provide care that best meets the needs of the individuals and families I am privileged to work with.

I am very interested in travel, the arts, and health. I enjoy being outdoors, particularly in the mountains. I also enjoy yoga, rock climbing, and the gym. This summer I am hoping to pursue rowing. I am always interested in new experiences, people, and places.
