I am a professional psychotherapist and registered social worker working in downtown Toronto and the Beaches. I offer relational, client-centered psychotherapy to both individuals and couples. This is a process that can help you to explore your feelings and life circumstances within a safe, confidential and understanding therapeutic environment.I am passionate about my work and strive to be earnest in my responses, an engaged listener and to provide feedback that is useful to you. I am open to discovering how you view the world from your unique perspective and endeavor to work alongside you, assisting you to discover the wisdom that can be drawn from your own experiences.

My work currently includes both a private psychotherapy practice with adults or youth and as a psychotherapist in a unique community-based agency where I work with high-risk children, youth and families. I have worked in the social service field throughout Canada providing case management, counseling, wilderness therapy and youth work for over nine years; in the past five years I have been fortunate enough to have found my niche as a psychotherapist. I completed my Master’s degree in Social Work at the University of Toronto and my psychotherapy Diploma was with The Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP). I have additional training as a couples therapist.  I am a clinical member of the Ontario Society of Psychotherapists, and a member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers.

I work with adults and youth, who are struggling with depression, anxiety, panic attacks, relationship troubles, job related stress, addictions, grief and loss, abusive relationships, trauma, childhood and/or family issues, anger, body image issues, postpartum depression and anxiety, self-harming and suicidal ideation. I also work with couples who are having difficulty in their relationship and require a third party to assist them in exploring and healing from the troubles they are facing.

I believe that a happy, fulfilled life will always contain challenges. Our work together will not remove life’s challenges, but will support you through them, encouraging you to find more satisfying ways of addressing them.I consider myself to be a well trained therapist, but ultimately, I believe that you are the expert on your own life. I will work to help you discover the best path for you to take and I will do this in as non-judgemental a fashion as possible. My goal as a therapist is ultimately to help my clients develop healthier relationships with themselves and others as well as to build up a greater capacity to live more authentic, self-assured and joyful lives.

If you are considering the possibility of working with me, you may be interested to know that some extended health care benefit plans cover psychotherapy services if they are provided by a registered social worker with a Masters Degree; this is my designation.
