I care about people and the ability for people to feel comfortable in their own life's journey.  In order to do this, it is important to make sure that the clients I work with feel comfortable, heard and understood in a non-judgmental environment.  I like to work in collaboration with my clients and give them the opportunity to practice the agreed upon tools that we discuss during our time together.  I believe that we all have a belief system that is based on our past experiences and that these belief systems can interfere with moving forward in life. It is our job to work together to make changes that will help make you feel that you are a valued person.

I am passionate in what I do.  I have worked for over 30 years as an educator and am moving forward on a new career path.  My expertise is with children, adolescents and young adults.  I am well versed with depression, anxiety, school issues, behavioral issues,  and other mental health issues that may plague yourself and/or your family.  I am also trained in Alcohol and Other Drug Addiction issues.  I currently have a support group that meets weekly for people dealing with loved ones suffering from addiction.  The HELP Group meets weekly and has helped to give the support to family members that are not sure how to handle what is happening to their family system.

I will create a warm and collaborative environment that will be comfortable for you, the client, to work on what your barriers are and how to work through those barriers and move forward to make yourself a happy and successful person.  We all have our issues, and we should not allow the little things in life to stop us from doing what we love in life.  We will set goals, review resources, and talk about how things can change for the better.  I will work as hard as you to make sure that you leave my office feeling like you are heard and understood.  I believe the best approach is to look at your belief system and find ways to change behaviors that are connected to that belief system.  I do believe that the past does influence the present and ultimately the future.

I will be ethical in our discussions.  I will not share anything that is discussed with anyone unless there is an indication of harm to yourself or that of another person.   It is important for me to open with you as you should be with me.  I will not be judgmental to your circumstances and will work hard to understand how you feel.
