Experienced at outpatient care for substance abuse/addiction which is identified by: impaired control over substances or behavior, preoccupation with substance or behavior, continued use despite consequences, and denial. Using a family therapy/systems approach, we work collaboratively to explore/identify contributing factors for abuse, identify triggers, build coping skills and a support network that supports sobriety.

I like to work with clients, including adolescents, to help them on their journey to wellness as they overcome addictions. In addition to substance and alcohol addictions, I also like to work with clients who have addictions that are rooted in technology, such as addictions to video games, online chat rooms, video chatting, social media sites, and sexting.

When a person is struggling with addiction, misusing alcohol or substances, they are not well mentally, physically, or spiritually. A person does not have to drink (or use) every day to have a problem. To begin recovery, one must first admit there is a problem, and then be willing to make changes and accept help. People CAN and do recover and improve their lives if recovery is made their number one priority....when it comes to sobriety, "half measures avail (us) nothing" - or at least not enough to fully recover. My addiction treatment approach is Integrative: this means that along w/ individual therapy, we integrate other therapeutic healing modalities and supports for an optimal outcome.
