While most treatment approaches to addiction include 12 step programs, rehabs, and now sober living houses, Grey Matters International, Inc. provides a wildly successful alternative to traditional models of addiction treatment----that keeps the brain in mind. That is, talking to the conscious brain while the primal brain is deciding things even before you are consciously aware? Well, that is the problem to solve in addiction. We have the solution utilizing a new cutting edge neuroscience-centered brain rebalancing system. Contact kevin@kevinflemingphd.com or call 877-606-6161.

I specialize in treating spouses suffering from the pornography or sex addiction of their partner. I also work with couples struggling with the sexual addiction of a spouse. I am certified in the treatment and diagnosis of sexual addiction from the American Association of Christian Counseling. I know first hand the pain of discovering a spouse's sexual addiction and I know there is light at the end of the tunnel. I believe in saving a marriage when possible and when it isn't, helping the injured spouse find the strength to move on.
Debbie Grammas, Ph.D.

I have been providing addiction evaluation and counseling services for 25 years. I hold a state license in alcohol and drug counseling. I am also an ADC III which means that I am a Diplomate in alcohol and drug counseling. To begin to address an addiction issue, it is necessary to obtain a thorough history and then to perform an objective evaluation of a client's alcohol and drug use. Then, the appropriate solution will be jointly determined and appropriate referrals will be made if needed. Also, I work with internet abuse and addiction issues as well. I do not moralize or judge others but rather I determine the patterns of their addiction and assist them to find the resources needed.

An addiction is a persistant dependence on a behavior or substance. People can become addicted to alcohol, drugs, smoking, gambling, spending, shopping, eating, sexual activities, etc. Addiction is a progressive symptom which means that it increases in severity over time if it is not treated. One approach to treatment is to deal with the underlying issues causing the addiction thereby reducing the "need" for the addiciton.. Once these are dealt with, then one can proceed to deal with the cravings for the addiction. New ways of living are learned.
Rachel Eddins, M.Ed., LPC-S, CGP
Addiction involves compulsive behavior that can gradually lead you to feel out of control with your life. Addiction comes in many forms and can include addiction to substances, people (love addiction), food, or work. Our approach is to help you manage unhelpful compulsive behaviors while also working on underlying causes. Often, this involves identifying and dealing with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression, or feelings of emptiness and inadequacy. The process of recovery helps you take control of your life, regain an identity of worth and value, develop healthy coping strategies, and manage difficult emotions.

People tend to think of addiction as a problem with alcohol or drugs, however we can be addicted to work, sex, food, gambling, pornography or even internet use. If you have experienced personal, family, or legal consequences as a result of addiction issues, we can help individuals and families learn better ways of coping with life on life’s terms. We work with with codependency, chronic relapse, and co-occurring mental health disorders that are frequently part of the addiction cycle. If you believe that there are others who have been where you are right now and are not there any longer, you may be ready to make meaningful changes. The work can be hard but you do not have to do it alone!
David S. Wachtel, Ph. D.
I recognize that the unique nature and characteristics of addictive and compulsive behaviors require specialized evaluation and treatment. While they share some commonalities, each has its own unique characteristics that are determined both by the nature of the addiction/compulsion and the personal experiences and meanings that the particular pattern has for you as a person. I take a systematic, multi-dimensional approach intervenes at the individal, relationship, and behavior levels to interrupt and begin to change the self-defeating patterns, internal (feelings, thoughts, expectations) and external behaviors themselves. Cnange is not just possible, it does occur!
Victor Wiesner, PhD, LPC, NCC, CCMHC
Most definitely a specialty of mine. I did my internship in 1995 at a drug and alcohol treatment center in Dallas, Texas. I am familiar with both the 12 step program and the holistic approaches. For over 6 years I facilitated a substance group each and every week. I became certified to administer the SASSI assessment - a gold standard in addiction counseling. You will no doubt find that I possess much more than just "book smarts" in this area. You have to get real, especially when dealing with addictions. Nobody has the luxury of time to meander down the road to recovery. Immediate change is a requirement and that can be scary. A bright future with true freedom and fun is waiting. I'm here.

I think of addiction generally as a habit out of control. You can learn to change your habits and thus control your behavior. Of course some addictions are so out of control they require detox and residential treatment. That is not the kind of addictions I deal with. You can be addicted to anything: pornography, alcohol, drugs, sex, or even chocolate.
