Any type of substance abuse deters us from our journey to live a fulfilling life. One of the first steps in getting help for an addiction is to understand and accept that you have one. Many people who struggle with excessive drinking benefit from substance abuse counseling. Living Life Counseling will provide an initial alcohol screening and assessment to determine the appropriate level of care and treatment. Therapy will focus the individual on identifying physical, psychological and social triggers, stress management, conflict resolution, desensitization techniques and relapse prevention. Please consider taking the next step in moving forward and call us today at 810-923-5760.

We use a client centered approach, supplementing individual therapy with family treatment and group therapy as appropriate. We address substance abuse and other addictions, and have therapists who have completed certificates in sexual health. We are in the process of becoming certified for gambling addiction treatment through the State of Michigan. For opiate and other substance addictions, we work closely with a medical doctor who treats addictions. We have offered alternatives to traditional Intensive Outpatient Programs, creating individualized intensive treatment programs utilizing individual, family and group treatment.

NorthPoint Sexual Addiction counseling is designed to work with both male and females one-on-one. Concentration will be on first understanding what sex addiction is and what is your addiction cycle. Next, we will help you learn what steps are necessary to achieve Recovery. In addition we work on the deeper levels to get at the root cause(s) of the addiction so it doesn't re-surface later. Many sex addiction counselors do not know how to work at these levels - many only work on the surface level of the addiction and do not know how to do the deeper work that is essential so that the addiction does not resurface. NorthPoint's sexual addiction counselor and Director John Sternfels is a CSAT.
