I've worked in Addiction for many years at treatment centres and in corrections. I'm well versed in the 12-steps approach and will apply this approach only when a client is interested and open to this. The 12-steps approach is not for everyone and so I also provide alternative ways to overcome or reduce one's addiction. Treatment of addiction starts with identifying one's triggers and then goes into alternative coping strategies that are proven to be effective. Time is also spent on examining the source of one's addiction so that change can happen more deeply. I view addiction as a symptom of a larger problem and believe if we mend the larger problem, the addiction will decrease.

Real Solutions for Real Challenges Common Sense techniques. Short-Term & Cost Effective Most often addictions are a symptom of pain. hurt , and loss of some form. The addiction serves to reduce this pain and suffering. However, the affect is has on the individual is to make them feel out of control, guilty, lazy, and generally worse about themselves whin in turn drives them to seek more relief. This is often the downward spiral of the addiction cycle. Martin helps his clients reframe thier negative statements about themselves and then exposes the core beliefs that keep triggering their destructive and untrue beliefs about their whole character.

Addiction is complex.Trust is essential to build between clients and the therapist. "Self" is to be explored first to see the structure of the client as to what sits inside his/her core before anything begins.Every aspect from birth to the formation of personality needs to be explored. Original family dynamic and childhood are crucial information to be explored. everything around the core self needs to be covered via the art. Anger, sadness and shame need to be addressed simultaneously using the art.

While most treatment approaches to addiction include 12 step programs, rehabs, and now sober living houses, Grey Matters International, Inc. provides a wildly successful alternative to traditional models of addiction treatment----that keeps the brain in mind. That is, talking to the conscious brain while the primal brain is deciding things even before you are consciously aware? Well, that is the problem to solve in addiction. We have the solution utilizing a new cutting edge neuroscience-centered brain rebalancing system. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 877-606-6161.

My approach to addiction is multi-faceted and individually focused. Exploring personal history and trauma and grieving losses are often elements, as is reconnecting with the body and its wisdom. In many cases, developing one's spirituality is central to healing. I provide a safe environment for exploring and listening to the range of feelings that have been avoided through the addiction so that reconnection with self is restored and one's deepest longings can be satisfied.

We all find ways to protect ourselves from experiencing painful emotions, however, some people's coping mechanisms are more harmful than they are helpful. Addictions are commonly the route many people take to avoid feeling pain, but the cost to the rest of their life is tremendous. In my work with addiction, I support clients in getting out of their habitual patterns of relying on an outside fix (whether it be food, alcohol, drugs, sex, and the like), and find the strength, personal conviction and self-love to live a less self-destructive life and find healthier ways of coping with life's many challenges.
