Anger as an experience and a behavior can have several causes which need to be assessed before deciding on which approach would work best. While generally caused by frustration, the reactions an individual exhibits can be the result of deep-seated emotional problems including trauma, or a learned reaction which seems out of the individual's control to deal with. Neurophysiological problems can sometimes exhibit as a loss of temper. Mental strategies and even relaxation exercises may be a part of anger management approaches.
