I will work with you to explore the root of the anger, to understand it and then to find ways to resolve it. Sometimes anger can be a symptom of a larger problem and the result of mistaken expectations. together, we can adjust these expectations to optimize success and to free yourself from these chains that bind when anger becomes an impairment to lilfe and relationships.

Anger tells us that something is wrong, or that we're being mistreated, for example. Anger gives us needed information, so we will not let others abuse us. But when anger turns to rage, it becomes destructive! Anger is an emotion, a feeling only. Rage is a behavior that includes yelling, name-calling, throwing things, punching holes in walls, driving recklessly. Rage is dangerous to us & others. We're born with anger, just as we're born with other emotions. We are not born with rage. Rage happens when anger and resentment build up over a period of time. You don't have to keep living with rage. If you're ready to take an honest look at things and do some work, I can help.

For many couples, learning to understand anger and treat it differently when it occurs is one key to improving their marriage or relationship. Anger is a natural emotion that happens when something important to us isn't going our way. But it often leads to fights in relationships, because couples continue trying to 'solve their differences' even after anger has taken over. Once emotion has taken over, it's nearly impossible to think clearly or hear new ideas. Counseling helps you to understand your anger AND learn what you can do to avoid being automatically triggered into old 'anger habits'.
