Anger is a natural emotion and because it's natural learning how to manage it is essential. Sometimes past experiences can cause anger to take you over. Learning what makes you angry and developing a tool set to identify a range of emotions can help in the management of anger. Learn tools and strategies to effectively manage your anger and bring peace and contentment to your life. This can lead to improved relationships with family, friends, co-workers and help you to successfully navigate situations that would have triggered an angry response in the past.
Sam Louie, MA, LMHC, CSAT-C
Anger is a natural reaction but do you feel your anger leads to emotional dysregulation that affects your relaitonships? I do not judge you based on your anger. I simply provide an empathetic ear to your situation as well as give you context to help you through situations where you may be reacting to your anger.
Oftentimes, we get angry in a situation but are unaware or afraid to tap into the primary emotions that stir the anger. Feelings of abandonment, emptiness, fear, and hurt that lie below the secondary emotion of anger can be processed.

I love to talk about anger. I teach you ways to understand yourself and anger, calming down techniques and how to communicate your feelings that will better get you needs met than in an angry tone. I know some secrets that you can implement immediately. I work with this issue individually and with couples.
Understanding one's feelings increases Emotional Intelligence which increases life and work success.

Often times we become frustrated with other people when they make us mad. However, if you think the anger you feel during these often tense times are begining to control your behavior and life, meeting with me to discuss ways of curbing the anger could be beneficial. I will assist you in the process of self-discovery. As you begin to learn more about yourself (ie. likes/ dislikes) the more you will begin to understand how life's daily activities (ie, job stressors, relationships conflicts, financial obligations etc.) contribute to your overall self worth and happiness. We will discover together what works well for you and how to restore balance and tranquility to your life.
Jeff VanZant, LMHC-A
Did you know that anger is often a secondary emotion? Sometimes we "go to" anger because it is a way to feel in control. Anger is also a defense mechanism to keep other feelings as well as people "at bay". Anger can be a very valid emotion but it becomes toxic and destructive if not resolved or combined with positive action. I have received over 60 hours in specialized training to understand perpetrator victim dynamics and help people rebalance pursuer-distancer patterns that can lead to abuse and frustration. Don't let unresolved anger poison your joy and relationships.
Edan Zebooloon, MA, LMHCA
Anger is often unfortunately the only hard emotion that men have been taught is acceptable, so it makes sense that it is typically what gets expressed instead of others such as fear and sadness. As a aman myself who has struggled with difficult emotions I can help you to manage your anger by providing a space where you can safely get out what you have a good reason to be angry about, but then to also drop down to what may be getting covered up that actually holds the answer to not only your greater emotional health, but is also in support of the well-being of those around you.
Anavadya Taylor, MSW
If you are angry, or told you are angry, or respond to situations with attached anger, chances are you need to discover a better way to deal with the issues that are causing this reaction. The process is very basic. You and I engage in dialogue about the underneath issues like anxiety, unhappiness and a host of other concerns that cause anger. In time, you develop the perspective to live a happy, creative and meaningful life. My office is located in Bellevue/Kirkland vicinity. And I work with out of area students via telephone. Not an insurance provider or Court mandated Counselor.

My approach to Anger Management involves first exploring all the ways that anger is manifesting itself in a client's life. Many times, our anger is more apparent than we realize, but because of culture's negative assumptions about anger, we try to hide it instead of dealing with it. Once we notice where anger is present, we can begin to pay attention to where it came from and how to both 1) minimize it, and 2) push through it, in hopes of finding the feelings that are underneath the anger. Usually, anger is covering up a larger desire in our lives: a desire to be loved, to be accepted, to be seen, to be known.

If you (or someone you know) struggles with anger management, I can help by teaching self-compassion, self-respect, and self-control. I assist through a combination of approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, stress management, positive self-talk, and distress tolerance. You can shift from "Hot Thoughts" like "I can't stand this" and "this is horrible!" to "Cool Thoughts" such as "I can handle this" and "This bugs me but it isn't the end of the world." We won't just shift words, but also expand your actual ability to tolerate distress and modulate your nervous system back towards calm.

Working from a Christian worldview, I help both men and women successfully manage their anger. Anger can be a puzzling and strange emotion. I will help you learn the difference between expressing your anger aggressively and expressing it assertively. I can assist you in becoming aware of your anger’s warning signs so you can recognize and deal with an issue while it is still manageable. Once you’re able to express your hurt and disappointment in honest, controlled and constructive ways, people are more free honest with you and growth in your relationships can occur.
