I don’t believe in Anger Management. Instead, I believe in getting rid of anger (Anger Resolution). Most of us learn how and when to be angry as children and continue to react the same way as adults. I work with you to eliminate anger by lowering reactivity and by helping you to explore new, more personally beneficial ways to respond to potentially rageful situations. No matter how angry you are, if you are coming to see me because you (or a loved one) feel that you need help with anger, I can help you. I am certified in Anger Resolution and I use many different techniques to lower your reactivity and help you eliminate rage--and not one of them includes counting to 10!

Anger is an emotion. And anger is usually the result of emotions building up inside. One of the traits that I bring to therapy related to anger management is being able to process how anger comes into any situation my clients are dealing with. In taking the time to identify how anger manages to invade my client's life we can work towards ways of preventing it from stopping the ability to live a fulfilling - and complete - life.

There are many times anger gets the best of us, as it is a normal and healthy emotion to express, especially when someone has hurt you or someone you love. Anger usually derives out of feeling wronged and sometimes it can spiral out of control, often emotionally and or physically hurting those you love most. If your goal is to get a better handle on anger, we will collaboratively work to make sense of how anger tends to get the best of you and then we will work to find custom tailored solutions that fit for you. There are ways to justify how anger makes sense within a given situation and certainly anger is not wrong to feel, although there is hope to be able to channel it more efficiently.
