Anger can overwhelm and destroy relationships. It is not always clear what the anger is about. I create a safe, confidential and supportive environment for client's to address and resolve their anger. I teach client's the skills to identify the source of their anger, communicate their feelings more appropriately, and create more harmony and happiness in their life and relationships. I utilize CBT techniques to help clients change the way they approach situations, how they perceive conflict and develop more effective conflict resolution and communication skills.

All humans experience anger, the key is how we manage and reflect anger in ourselves and to others. I will help you evaluate the emotions that drive your anger and help you find skills to manage it. We will look at your perceived benefits and disadvantages, examine thoughts that drive your anger, find new ways and skills to deflect anger, and hopefully begin to diminish the intensity of your anger.

For some people, anger is an emotion that is easier to express, compared to worry, fear, anxiety, sadness, depression, etc. However, lashing out verbally and/or physically, to others and/or property creates another layer of issues. This can result in problems with the law, failed marriages, lost jobs, etc. Recognizing the emotions underling the anger, and feeding into the anger, is an essential piece in mental health recovery. Individual therapy builds insight into our complex emotions, helps us cope with the sources and triggers of these emotions, and rebuilds from the consequences of our past choices.

Anger says "we are being violated", so what is this sense of violation. Does it spring from some situation from the past? Your anger is real, and makes sense in the context of your life experience.
