Anger is such a common emotional response, and is so prevalent in this hurried, frustrating World in which we live. I often tell my clients "anger is not a stand-alone emotion, but is rather a secondary response to a deeper underlying frustration, or perceived lack of control." Our job then, is to get to the underlying emotion that is driving the anger, and deal with that. Recognizing your unique anger triggers is certainly a very important part of this process.

Dr. Bruce Quinlan

3000 Hartley Road Suite 3, Jacksonville, FL 32257

I will sometimes use workbooks to help people manager anger better. But there are almost always childhood roots to anger management problems. These are dealt with through inner healing of emotions, forgiveness work, and/or the healing of memories. I also help people understand how to regulate the brain system (HPA axis) that produces the adrenaline that fuels anger. I often have the client keep a log of the kinds of events that trigger them so the client can learn alternate ways of responding to problem situations.
