Anxiety and stress are responses to a life in need of hope. I work with clients to help them see the strength, values and virtues they have to counteract that anxiety and stress. We work collaboratively to understand what is causing anxiety and take steps to eliminate this stress from our lives. As clients are able to identify strengths and how to implement them against anxiety and stress, hope is the end result that leads to peace.
Kristin Vandermolen, MSW, RSW

Living with anxiety robs us of our ability to enjoy our lives and to relax. As a person that has overcome an anxiety disorder, I understand that anxiety can have a profound impact on many aspects or our lives e.g.: relationships, work, self-esteem, etc. As a trained professional I will help you to identify what creates and sustains anxiety for you. With this understanding you will gain control over your anxiety and prevent future occurrences. You deserve to enjoy life. Let’s start now.
Jonathan Christink, B.A., M.Ed.
In working with individuals who struggle with anxiety, I use both a cognitive behavioural therapeutic (CBT) approach and eye movement desensitization reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. The principal aim of cognitive behavioural therapy is to increase awareness that thoughts and behaviour drive emotion. My aim is to increase consciousness of distorted perceptions, and then assist individuals in rebalancing those perceptions to be more accurate. EMDR focuses specifically on reprocessing traumatic memories that are at the root of the anxiety. Through EMDR individuals can come to terms with traumatic and distressing memories that underlie anxiety.
Kim Christink, M. Div., D. Min.
I believe that you and I are required to become an expert at dealing with work stress, relational stress, and personal internal stress. We need to be able to have sharp cognitive and emotional skills that other generations just did not require. When people come to me for help we work extensively at developing awareness, stress management and emotional and relational intelligence (IQ). I use a holistic model that incorporates the most clinically proven strategies that produce positive outcomes.
If you are motivated you can overcome anxiety, panic and phobia. We have successfully run individual treatment programs for the last twelve years helping people just like you.
Elisabeth Needham, M.T.S.
Stress: It’s a part of our everyday lives. You may experience panic attacks, feel overwhelmed - that you’re falling apart at the seams. You may be crippled with worry. How does this affect your present and your future? You may be obsessing so much about what will happen, what should be done and your fears that your ‘today’ is ruined. Let’s work together to learn a balanced approach to stress that will free you of your spiraling thoughts!
Todd-Zachary Adamowich, B.A. (Hons.), M.S.W., RSW
Anxiety and stress can be approached from two various perspectives. Some believe that anxiety is a biological problem requiring medication and cognitive behavioural therapy; while others believe that anxiety is situational and can be resolved by exploring the roots of anxiety in one’s life. I sit on the fence, and believe that both can be applicable. Medication and cognitive behavioural therapy can be very helpful in learning strategies to manage the symptoms of anxiety and to learn how to see life through a new perspective. Sometimes anxiety is rooted in our experiences and we need to face our histories in order to resolve the experiences that cause us to feel anxious.
Jaime Lidstrom, B.A. Honors Specialization Psychology
This is an important issue these days as we have constant stimulation with all of the technological advances. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy techniques to address issues of stress and anxiety. I enjoy working with people to establish what we do have control over and how to target stress and anxiety in a number of ways. Changing how we think about things is crucial to the change process.
Andrea Ramsay Speers, MA
Everybody worries. But when your stress level is crippling or you go out of your way to avoid anxiety-producing situations, it's time to make a change. Stop the overthinking and gain control of your stress, by becoming aware of what you're telling yourself and replacing it with more accurate and helpful thoughts, slowing your mind down, and taking action to reduce or even eliminate the sources of your stress and anxiety. It may seem overwhelming, but you'll be amazed at how quickly you can start to feel better once you take the first few steps. Your mental and physical health are too valuable - call now to put the anxiety and stress behind you, and start enjoying life again.
Chantal Blackshaw, M.A., M.DIV., CCC
By employing a strengths based approach, I assist clients to find strategies to reduce their anxiety, using their inner resources to determine what has worked in the past, what didn't, and discuss new strategies to try. I also use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to help my clients to identify negative thinking patterns and behaviors. This method then allows for a change toward more positive thoughts and behaviours so as to reduce anxiety or stress. By identifying your strengths and learning new ways of handling stress, you can gain the confidence to tackle any problem that arises and lead a more stress-free life.
Nancy Wall, M.A. Counselling Psychology
Anxiety can come in many forms, such as Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Phobias, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. There are many reasons why people struggle with anxiety, and I believe it’s is important to look into these as they can give us clues for solutions. In my practice, I have found that the foremost reason that people struggle with anxiety and stress is due to their thought patterns. I help people take a look at their automatic thought patterns, assumptions, and schemas (core beliefs about themselves), and empower them to see that they can chose to think differently. When people are able to change their negative thought patterns for more realistic
Gail Bruneau, BA, MSW, RSW
In helping people to manage their anxiety more effectively we explore several areas:
1. Often people learn how to be more ‘positively self-assertive’ in their relationships which is more empowering and helps decrease the anxiety in relationships.
2. Responses to anxiety: Cognitive Behavior Therapy Thought Logs can be very helpful in recognizing the links between thoughts and anxiety, and reframing and correcting cognitive ‘distortions’
3. Symptom Management: - e.g. deep breathing, self soothing, thought stopping, etc.
4. Behavioral component - I often encourage clients to face their fears, rather than avoiding them.
