It is very difficult to function in our society without at times feeling totally overwhelmed by anxiety and stress. For many thousands, if not millions, of years, stress and anxiety came in the form of fears surrounding attacks from wild animals, not finding enough berries to fill the basket for the day, ghosts and evil spirits that may be lurking in the dark woods, or violent attacks from neighboring tribes.
