At CareerWon, we are dedicated to serving the unique Gen Z and Millennial generations in 4 client groups: Leaders, Professionals, Recent College Grads and Students. We offer career navigation and executive coaching services, including, determining a fulfilling and successful career path, designing a branded resume, effective job search, assessing strengths and growth opportunities, addressing blindspots and reducing potential career derailers. I don't do formal career counseling, but enjoy counseling entrepreneurs, business men and women, and performing artists. We would help you develop better assertiveness skills, clarify direction, improve motivation, encourage and guide you in negotiating higher salaries and rates, and cope with job/career crisis and change. I have worked with many people who lost their jobs in the current economic downturn. I also have a specialty working with performing artists to help them find satisfying jobs that allow them to pursue their art, and work with them on stage fright, creative blocks, and balancing relationship/work.

I help clients clarify their needs rather than needs sculpted through years of compliance with a partner or spouse. The client who is confused or feels lost is asked to slow down the thinking process to get more in touch with the feeling process. This intergrates emotions and feelings and can further guide my client into a path she can be excited about. Now hope comes alive.

Earning a living is a major part of our lives; ideally it should be fulfilling as well as providing for material needs. If you are unhappy in your work life, there are many approaches and choices that can radically improve it. Sometimes it is a matter of altering attitude and motivation so that you exude energy not resignation. Transitioning to a new position of responsibility can call for flexibility in modifying work habits, and handling interpersonal relationships. Engineering a career change is more possible than most of us realize, but there are intimidating challenges. Recognizing when one is in a dead end is occasionally necessary; especially if you've invested years of effort.

While most career counselors love to give you capacity based profiles of what your talents and interests are for your best bet career choices, Grey Matters international believes that most people make predictably irrational decisions and then after making them learn way to make them fit into their identities using various types of rationalizations and strategies. I leverage a solution-based approach to clearly outline your primary challenge, work through an exercise to meditate on and define your future state and then work over 8 sessions to achieve it via homework and 1:1 sessions. Clients have experienced great success with this approach, my goal is to empower you - YOU have the answers and I want to help you find them.

Clients plagued by perfectionism, or self-esteem related difficulties can develop insight, increase self-esteem, learn communication skills, and heal from past painful life experiences to learn more about themselves and what career they may see themselves in. Individuals can learn emotion regulation and interpersonal skills to assist in building confidence.

Work can be something fun, something to look forward to, or it can be a burden to deal with. Through work, an individual can experience a sense of work engagement (vigor, dedication, and absorption). Additionally, individuals can experience burnout, which can cause them to hate their job. Individuals spend most of their waking hours working; it is important to find meaning and satisfaction in one's work. I have spent numerous years helping individuals with their careers, not only decide on choosing a career path that is meaningful to them but also to help them find meaning and satisfaction in their existing jobs.

Satisfaction with your career is critical. Many people spend the majority of their waking hours at their jobs. Therefore, my career counseling goals are to enable you to not only perform adequately at your job, but to identify your passions and provide you with tools that will help you achieve your full potential. This involves a detailed analysis of your strengths and weaknesses so that you can develop a comprehensive understanding of how to optimally implement your professional skills.

It's really important to do what you love. My clients will be able to gain clarity about the work they want to do. I will assess client's strenghts and provide valuable feedback. Clients will find more joy in the work they do or realize that they possibly need to change positions depending on their situation. Often times, teens have a hard time know what they want to major in college or if they need college. Together, we will explore what aligns to the client's goals and values.

A career is often a major part of one's life, and finding a disconnect between what you do and your values or interests can be destabilizing and painful. I offer in depth discussions on values, interests, work/life balance goals, and lifestyle goals in order to find a career that aligns. All are unique and important components that need to be considered when determining a job switch or addition. It's a big life change and emotional support in therapy throughout the change is incredibly important as well.

I see careers as extensions of who we are as people. If you are trying to decide whether it’s time to make a change, or need guidance on better determining your next career steps, I offer support and provide a safe place for you to do that. I love helping clients evaluate their interests, skills, and abilities, and then walking through the development of realistic goals. Please note that I do not provide specific aptitude tests or achievement assessments.
