We support clients in building on the strengths and skills that they already have in order to build the career that they dreamed of. Sometimes this means exploring skills that they did not think they had or have used for some time. This is also a process of self-discovery and figuring what they are passionate about and how to make this into their dream job as well as building confidence to get out there and advocate for the raise or the next step up the ladder!

I support individual clients experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, and mental and emotional exhaustion. I often work with Highly Sensitive People, or empaths, who are more susceptible to these experiences. I support those in helping professions like teachers, therapists, parents, medical professionals, and difficult work environments create their boundaries in their workspace for personal well-being.

A career takes up so much of someone's life. To be in a career that feels like a poor fit is to suffer for much of life. I aim to help patients talk honestly, to find the source of their suffering and glimmers of joy. By talking honestly and exploring your real self, we can find the right path to a fulfilling life and a career that feels like the rightful place for you.

While most career counselors love to give you capacity based profiles of what your talents and interests are for your best bet career choices, Grey Matters international believes that most people make predictably irrational decisions and then after making them learn way to make them fit into their identities using various types of rationalizations and strategies. Career Counseling is about change. Within the work of career counseling, there are generally themes that exist. These can include: issues with bosses or co-workers, lack of fulfillment, feelings of stress or overwhelm, difficulty creating balance between work and home life, or low motivation. Once we identify what is causing career related issues, we can identify specific interventions to address these issues. Some of these can include: effective communication skills, boundary and limit setting, ways to create structure, calming strategies to cope with stress, and values exercises to explore what aspects of work do energize you. By implementing appropriate strategies; you can experience fulfillment with work.
