It's never too late to change your job, and many of us have more than one career path in our lifetime. Life is too short to stay in a career that causes you stress and unhappiness. The first step is a thorough assessment of your personality styles, strengths. and interests to determine which careers are best suited to you. After the second session, clients have a list of possible careers to explore. Professional services, such as resume and interview preparation, can assist the client in securing the job of their dreams.

It is one thing to embark on a new career path, and a whole other to find the sweet spot of purpose, contribution, vitality and practical stability that leads to a really fulfilling vocation. The latter requires the courage to allow, shape and stay with a vision and the skills to navigate the inevitable peaks and valleys in confidence that are natural to the process. It is necessary to develop the ability to structure your own time toward your goal, maintaining the stability necessary to take new opportunities and creative risks. Having changed careers several times Sheila has experienced career counselling herself first hand. She can expose you to aptitude testing and together explore and expand on potential opportunities supporting you to find a career path that will bring you satisfaction. Helping find a career you feel passionate about is the beginning, developing a resume and interview skills and supporting you through making contacts and connections, will eventually bring your dreams to reality.

I help clients with addictive behaviours or substance use that is interfering with their ability to achieve a fulfilling career. Through collaborative conversations, clients gain a sense of purpose and direction, overcoming barriers to making meaningful progress in their professional life. Gaining a sense of control over one's life allows for increased confidence and self-esteem. I help clients build the motivation necessary to take steps toward a future filled with passion, thriving, and mental resilliance.

My approach to career counselling and planning is taken from the now famous resource Designing Your Life. We apply Design Thinking to reframe obstacles to opportunities in creative ways that may be impossible to imagine now. Then we design plans to give you the inspiration and practical experiences that prove what career decision will bring you the greatest happiness, fulfillment, and reward.

Learning more about who you are and how you want to spend the next decades of your life are all considerations in career counselling.
