I help clients with addictive behaviours or substance use that is interfering with their ability to achieve a fulfilling career. It's never too late to change your job, and many of us have more than one career path in our lifetime. Life is too short to stay in a career that causes you stress and unhappiness. The first step is a thorough assessment of your personality styles, strengths. and interests to determine which careers are best suited to you. After the second session, clients have a list of possible careers to explore. Louisa specifically focuses on career changes and how you can increase your happiness in your livelihood. She also works with those who are transitioning into retirement. Vernon, draws a people from all around for their retirement years. Often this can be a tricky transition in life. A few times a year Louisa offers a “Transitioning into Retirement” group seminar.

My approach to career counselling and planning is taken from the now famous resource Designing Your Life. We apply Design Thinking to reframe obstacles to opportunities in creative ways that may be impossible to imagine now. Then we design plans to give you the inspiration and practical experiences that prove what career decision will bring you the greatest happiness, fulfillment, and reward.

Life path and career/work struggles can both result from distress in relationships and precipitate distress. The fact that relationships are one of our primary coping mechanisms multiplies the potential distress when these are present as they impacts the very mechanisms we use to cope.
