Career Counselling requires a counsellor who has had a lot of personal life experience in a variety of diverse areas. This is the counsellor that I am. I realize how important it is to find the right career whether you are just starting out, are needing to change careers, or have reached retirement age and need or just want to find something different to do for either financial need or diversion. If you are past the point of talking to a school guidance counsellor about your career choices - educational requirements, how to write a resume, how to write a cover letter, how to survive an interview - or are just wanting some advice and possibly some support, I am available to help you.

I help clients with addictive behaviours or substance use that is interfering with their ability to achieve a fulfilling career. Through collaborative conversations, clients gain a sense of purpose and direction, overcoming barriers to making meaningful progress in their professional life. Gaining a sense of control over one's life allows for increased confidence and self-esteem. I help clients build the motivation necessary to take steps toward a future filled with passion, thriving, and mental resilliance.

I adopt a client-centric approach focused on empowering individuals to navigate their professional journey with clarity and confidence. Through personalized assessments, goal-setting, and exploration of individual strengths and values, clients gain a deeper understanding of their career aspirations. I provide guidance on strategic decision-making, skill development, and effective job search strategies to align their career paths with personal goals. It is one thing to embark on a new career path, and a whole other to find the sweet spot of purpose, contribution, vitality and practical stability that leads to a really fulfilling vocation. The latter requires the courage to allow, shape and stay with a vision and the skills to navigate the inevitable peaks and valleys in confidence that are natural to the process. It is necessary to develop the ability to structure your own time toward your goal, maintaining the stability necessary to take new opportunities and creative risks. I offer coaching for those motivated to move into this place.

If you feel stuck in your current situation, unsure of what career to choose or wanting to enhance your workplace environment. I will assist the client in reaching occupational goals, which may change over time. Goals are set by the client in collaboration with me

Who benefits from career counselling? You might be a student looking for direction or a person considering a career change. You may also be looking to delve deep and assess your talents, skills, interests, personality or learning style. Learning more about who you are and how you want to spend the next decades of your life are all considerations in career counselling. Assessment tools can be very helpful in making informed career choices and developing a personalized career path but are best utilized along with an experienced counsellor. Psychotherapeutic tools such as EFT and Mindfulness Based approaches can provide depths of understanding one's self.

I offer return to work and employment support specific to people who have concussion and brain injury. This is a specialty area that my Certified Brain Injury Specialist designation allows me to provide. I also offer return to school support and education support for this group of people. Struggling with brain injury or persistent concussion symptoms can make school and work daunting and my approach to allow you to explore outcomes of brain injury, build resiliency and develop new coping skills, will make it possible.
