I have a PhD in leadership and policy and a background in business. I've had many jobs and careers from modelling, personal training, to a Bell operator and a Purolator driver. I've been in retail sales, and sold photocopies, PR, and software. I've been a teacher of primary/junior students, and professor in sales, and a professor in graduate education. You might have been underemployed or out of work for some time, go through a job loss, promotion, require upgrading, or a career change. Counselling can help you understand yourself and what you are seeking in order to make career, educational, and life decisions. We will discover fears, hopes and the story you have used for historical career decisions. By doing this we will be able to develop meaningful steps towards your personal fulfillment.

Dr. Strauss offers career counseling through New Leaf Psychology Centre. In order to facilitate decision making, sessions will first assess your current skills, assets and interests. Your level of fulfillment at your current place of work, and obstacles to fulfillment will also be discussed. Potential career changes will be reviewed, with the goal of helping you come to a decision that you are comfortable with.

Career counseling is one of my favorite areas of therapy (and coaching).
