In my office, I have a play area in which I work with young children as young as age 5 all the way to tweens and teenagers. Through the use of play and art therapy, children can begin to express their feelings and learn to get in touch with their emotions. Children are more likely to open up through the use of games, craft activities, and art. When combined with family therapy, children can work through many issues that come up for many different family structures and adjustments such as divorce, separation, grief, school problems, conduct issues, and parenting or sibling issues.
