I love working with children from 2 years of age. I have worked with children for over 20 years and have worked with many children who are twice-gifted as well as special needs. I specialize in working with children who have experienced physical and sexual abuse as well as those that are working through life transitions and divorce. I work with tweens and teens, 10 and up. I typically utilize Narrative Therapy , Expressive Arts, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Strengths-Based approaches when it comes to minors. Tweens and teens are brilliant and have extraordinary outlooks when interacting with the world around them. Given these qualities, the world can be overwhelming in ways that adults do not have to experience anymore or as often as they used to. This is why I take careful time to build rapport with these clients before diving into heavy therapeutic work. Children need to feel like they have a voice within the therapeutic space in order to communicate and express themselves authentically.
