Henry A Malone, Ph.D.
ADD, ADHD, Autism, LD, TBI, Emotional Dysfunction, severely impact the development of children. As a child psychologist with extensive experience, Dr. Malone recognizes that in such conditions the Brain is not functioning adequately. The Brain can do more than think, it can actually correct and adjust itself when given the opportunity. Before introducing foreign substances into the Brain, please do give the Brain the chance to fix itself. Neurofeedback or EEG Biofeedback works, it facilitates the brain in regulating itself. Allow your child's Brain to avail of its own natural adjustment process. A Brain Map/QEEG provides the information to guide the Brain in its readjustment process.

We utilize play therapy and parent child psychotherapy in order to enhance the child ability to develop health relationships with the people in their life as well as overcome trauma. We utilize a child centered approach which enable the child to show us how he or she perceives their world through play, art, and movement. Our program is specialized to gain a detailed understanding of the child's developmental state as well as their parent's parenting stressors.
Sandra Lugo, LCSW-R,MS,DCSW
Different approaches are used to help children and adolescents who are experiencing difficulties with emotional or behavioral problems. Psychotherapy helps children and adolescents with emotional support, conflict resolution, understanding feelings and problems, and trying out new solutions to existing issues. They must feel comfortable, safe and understood in sessions. Creating a trusting space makes it possible for the people to express thoughts and feelings.
My different psychotherapy approaches include playing, writing, drawing, building, and pretending, as well as talking. The style is chosen based on the presenting problems, history, level of development, ability to engage.

When a child is presented for treatment barring organic causes, the first question one asks, " Who has the problem?" Is it the child, parents, school or the interactions of all?" After interviewing the child and parents (conducted in both family and individual sessions), I present the parents with an evaluation. Dependent on the severity of the child's problems and the ability of the parents to mobilize their parenting skills, it is decided to address the presenting problems with individual sessions as well as family sessions. My attempt is to minimize the treatment of the child and enable the parents to learn to parent through "Creative Loving" (a program that Dr. PItta created).
Edythe Denkin, Ph.D
Dr. Denkin helps children become top students, developing inner confidence, persistence, skills for listening and following directions. Parents learn how to show their children they are on their side by offering positive reinforcement without their children feeling threatened or criticized, by learning ho9w to express their wishes positively, and changing patterns learned in childhood.
Sports Counseling:
Dr. Denkin says, "The secret towards helping young children and adolescents in sports is to help them believe in themselves. When they truly believe they can do it, they begin to DO IT. With her support, their ability in sports increases, and their confidence in themselves grows.
Paul Josephson, LCSW
Working with young children under the age of twelve is a wonderful opportunity to help your child develop a positive self image and an ability to recognize and communicate their feelings at a point in their lives when this is natural and sets them up to lead successful and fulfilling lives. I have worked with children in clinics and schools and in my private practice office since 1993.
Phyllis Y. Sachs-Yasgur, LCSW-R, CLL
Children tend to react to life's circumstance depending upon their stage of development. Their ability to verbally express their fears and frustrations, and to problem solve is limited. Often, their fears and anxiety become evident in their behavior. Phyllis uses specific play techniques to help children, together with their parents' participation, to develop confidence, learn to communicate, overcome frustration, avoid control battles, build impulse control, develop social skills, express themselves, and meet their ultimate potential.
Hal Brickman, MSW, CSW, LCSW, C.HT
The most malleable of us all. Therefore, that segment of our society that can be most easily molded, sculpted. Since the sculptist is almost always the parents their cooperation in the therapy process cannot be emphasized enough. They are makers or breakers of it. That is why the creation of a trusting alliance with them is critical. However, respecting the boundaries and confidentiality too of the child's work (therapy) with myself. The child is allowed to express, within reason, their individuality. Encouragement is given for adaptive risk-taking and self-soothing mechanisms. I create, a safe, predictable, environment.
Daniel Minuchin, MA, LMFT
While i do have a background working with children individually, as a family therapist, I now work with children in the context of working with the whole family, and i find that more effective. With children in general, and with young children in particular, i have found that children are often responding to family issues. And, whatever the issues, how their parents respond has a a greater impact on helping children cope than what a therapist does. So, helping to resolve family issues, or helping parents to find better ways to cope with a child's problems is often the most useful way to help children.

Young children are not little adults but yet they are whole people. Children process things differently but also exhibit good resilience in many situations. In working with young children, it is especially important to work with them where they are at and in ways that allow them to relate tot he journey that is being made. When this is successful, the child not only is able to find wholeness and peace in the present but have a firm foundation for finding this in the future. A dimension of working with a child is working with the adults that are significant in that child's life. Christopher looks forward to this journety together with you.
