Often we can improve our lives by learning better communication skills, changing behaviors, and learning to resolve conflict. But then, sometimes life's issues are bigger than what we can change. We feel powerless, and we need to find meaning, comfort and hope in our faith. Nurturing faith through scripture and prayer can be an important part of therapy. Since Adam and Eve fell out of paradise humans had the ability to experience shame, self-hatred and hatred towards others. I believe that therapy is about healing hatred. Therapy is about finding compassion for oneself and for others, grounded in Christ's redemption for us to open our hearts for forgiveness and love.

When spirituality is so central to the way we live our life, and we need to seek out healing and wholeness, it is incredibly helpful to have someone who deeply understands the power and the importance of those beliefs, and how the love of God shapes our lives. As a therapist who is a follower of Jesus, I hold those beliefs as sacred and always center my work over the unconditional Love and Peace that God pours out for us. In the refining, loving, peaceful center of this Love, together we work to uncover the healing and wholeness that is promised to each one of us.
