For many people, faith is an important part of their lives and their decisions are often informed by their understanding of Scripture. Unless we're willing to discuss religious beliefs, we may remain stuck. I'm comfortable having conversations about religious beliefs. I have a BA in Theology and serve as a lay pastor on the side where I preach sermons. With that being said, be wary of anyone who claims to speak *for* God or knows the "Biblical" thing to do. I consider myself a "Christian counselor" rather than a "Biblical counselor" because I usually do not quote the Bible in counseling unless you ask for something specific because I think it's too often abused. I do not replace the Spirit.

As a Christian, I can work with you on your life issues through the lens of your relationship to God and Christ. I truly feel that my personal spiritual beliefs in no way hinder me from working with any client; on the contrary, I know that my spirituality is a key component of who I am as a person and thus as a therapist. Also, faith based strategies are very helpful in creating a happy, healthy, and successful life, so I include those in executive, business, and personal coaching as well.
