Christian counseling is based on using solid Biblical principles to guide one's life. Clients will benefit by learning how to apply practical Biblical principles to their thought processes. Our behavior is a result of how we think. Right thinking produces right behavior. Biblical principles are right thinking, and when we learn to think with Biblical principles, our behavior will be right.

Counseling for Christ followers is based on God's biblical principles, given to us for healthy and holy living. We were each created in God's image, created with purpose, created for His glory, and created with good works to do. He created each of us uniquely, with strengths and corresponding weaknesses, with needs that are both valid and real. When we learn and understand how to apply these principles for living we can begin to make sense of both our problems and our disappointments, and to look at them in light of what God says about us.

It is indeed good news ("gospel") that God loves you. Period. This is far more transformative, far more grace-filled, far more healing, and far more true than any person, belief system, community, church, or religion can adequately contain. I am a Christian counselor in the same way that Habitat for Humanity is a Christian organization: I have no intention of imposing any laws, or beliefs, or enforcing a "right" way to live. I welcome all people as clients, whatever religion, denomination, or lack thereof. My own faith, arising from Christianity, simply calls me to love all as I am loved, and to heal as I continue to be healed. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Christian counseling can be defined in a number of ways. Finding a counselor who is trained in the skills of counseling and licensed by the state as well as trained in theology, is not easy. However, at Resolution Counseling, we have two therapists who are trained in theology as well as secular counseling. Most individuals who request Christian counseling are concerned about integrating their spiritual beliefs into their counseling sessions. Our Christian counselors believe that the core of what they do is to help people achieve a better understanding of themselves and God in light of their faith.
