Christian Value-Based Therapy is proven to be highly effective with many people. Rob and Dori are active, engaged Christians, and know a client's spiritual belief system is a critical factor to mental/emotional health. Valued-Based Counseling - versus a dogmatic religious approach - assesses the client's beliefs, how the beliefs were formed, and then assists in creating foundational life goals to make positive changes. Scientifically proven, Value-Based Counseling is one of the most successful therapy models. Individuals who commit to living life based on healthy values and a strong belief system, most often report greater inter-personal health and well-being.

Faith is what has led me to this profession. I've been a Christian my whole life and know how important that can be to others, especially when facing difficult and overwhelming issues. Integrating your walk with God can be an integral piece to your treatment plan. I would love the opportunity to help you consider the plans God has for you. Maybe you're questioning your faith and want someone to just walk you through those "big" questions. Or you're wondering what role your faith plays in your current situation. Healing is possible and I know that God has called me to help those who are hurting. I would love the opportunity to meet you right where you are and help you reclaim your life today!
Sheryl Brown, MS, LMFT
My training as a Marriage and Family Therapist has reinforced my respect for each and every person's right to choose to practice their faith in the manner that is in line with their beliefs. Many people come to me because I am not out to change their beliefs, but to work with them as a whole persons as they are. My Christian background is good news to many who are concerned that their beliefs might not be considered in the therapy process. Call me if you have any questions in this regard 425 652-1413.

Just by seeking help and moving towards overcoming your issues you will benefit from the help provided from Christian counseling. As your therapist I will help you discover the tools & needed communication skills to help you overcome whatever situation you are facing that is causing you to suffer. My responsibility is to provide you a safe & neutral environment for you to work through & grow towards overcoming your current issues along with developing coping skills in other areas that are challenging you.
Steve Dill, MA. LMHC
My Christian faith leads me to believe that our problems are often a source of potential growth rather then merely a symptom or sign of personal failure. I believe God is good that He loves us and not only has the power to help us but is THE power calling us and equipping us toward a hope filled destiny. My thinking is influenced by Leanne Payne, Henri Nouwen, John Eldredge, Dan Allender and much of the recovery movements focus on the Twelve Steps. I am an evangelical but when not working with Christians my goal is to honor their process right where they are and not exercise undue influence. Much of my reading in the field is from authorities that are not Christian but are profoundly helpful

As a counselor who is a Christian, I value the integration of faith for one’s emotional wellbeing. You may have spent many hours reading and integrating the scriptures into your life, and yet, you find that your life is still without peace and maybe you question if God really cares about you. Our work together includes exploring the questions that you have and learning new ways to relate to yourself, others, and God, so that you experience God’s breath of life and hope. At core, my work with you is to hold to biblical foundations and walk with you on your journey of healing and redemption.
Sam Louie, MA, LMHC, CSAT-C
As someone who considers himself a “Christian” counselor, I have to ask myself is there a difference between what I do and a traditional counselor? And if so, how would a client know the difference?
Let me start with what clients should be aware of. Regardless of who you see, this idea of a counselor as being objective, neutral, and free of any moral bias is inaccurate. The core business of counseling as it stands today is about seeing someone to help you change your behavior (i.e. thoughts, feelings, actions). But I believe God wants more than behavioral change, he wants deep inner change that touches the soul of who we are. That is the work I strive towards, inner change.

As a Christian it is comforting to know that your therapist has the same beliefs that you do. Feel safe sharing your concerns in a judgement free environment. Be confident that the changes you want to see as a result of working together will be mine as well. Better self esteem, healing from past friendships, couple relationships or family dynamics can be addressed and improved. Anxiety, depression, feelings of failure
can all be changed. Understanding what troubles you and how to live differently is what I want to help you
achieve. I offer a comfortable and confidential counseling environment. Located conveniently in North Seattle.
Mike Wisler, MA, LMHC
Christian counseling is unique in that you are offered a theological frame work to understand intimacy and separation in relationship. Christian counseling can greatly deepen your faith and invite you to stronger relationship with God. I believe Christian counseling is unique in emphasizing that suffering well is part of our pilgrimage as followers of Christ.

By sitting with a Christian counselor, you will be able to trust that your faith will be an important part of the therapeutic work we do together. My practice is based upon Christian principles; clients have the opportunity to work through issues through the lens of the Scriptures and further explore how to live the life that God intended for us to live.

Tom Lumsden has been a Christian since 1961. He spent 7 years in Campus Crusade for Christ and several years in seminary before believing that God was leading him to be a counselor with the gifts God has given him of wisdom and discerment. Tom has the unique ability to help people to understand what it means to be a Christian, make that personal to him/her and then how that in turn can help him/her to deal with the problems at hand. Tom does not "push religiion" on anyone, but is very open to explaining to his clients how a "relationship" with the Lord Jesus is an important first step to wellness.
