I work with people to integrate their spiritual beliefs into their lives and the situations in which they are struggling. I am very involved in my own Christian faith, however, it is not about my faith but the person's belief that is seeking guidance. I am very aware of the different Christian and religious beliefs and help people draw on their own beliefs/religious traditions in their spiritual relationship with God.

My main approach to Christian counseling is being active and involved in your well being through sanctification. I truly believe in the Spiritual approach that God is a healer and take you through a Biblical process of this healing. I reference the Bible as we come up with life's challenges and find ways to deal with them. I structure this and use Eccelssiates 7:4 where it talks about :what is it about loss that is so painful that one cannot enter into the "house of mourning". As a foundational approach in this area.

For those who wish to have a Christian approach to their therapy, I see faith as a strength in the process of healing. Everyone is on a different journey with with their faith. This is a place where you can bring your spiritual doubts, any harm done by your spiritual community, and a place where you are encouraged to grow in how you relate with God. Your relationship with God impacts how you connect with yourself and others. We can incorporate biblical principles, verses, and prayer as part of the process and they contribute to well-being. The greatest change seems to come from looking at how we relate with God in the midst of our struggles.
