I am a Christian and help all people with their spiritual growth. Christian is a broad label and my job is to align with your beliefs and help you achieve your goals to live a life with your values intact and celebrated. Clients will benefit from Christian counseling because our conversations will include the most important relationship in their lives. Having a great relationship with your God will help you have great relationships with all others.

I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who is a Christian. Life can have its ups and downs. However, I believe that it is our faith that gives us hope in the midst of trials. Sometimes we need someone to come along side of us to encourage us that we are not alone and to know that God has not left us. God can do the transformation He needs to do within us if we are willing. He can transform us in unique ways so that we can see that we have a future and a hope in Him.

Our deepest wounds are often those that are at the hands of another person. Human brokenness is the root of our need for redemption. This holds true in therapy and growth work as well. When we encounter our deep wounds, we encounter our need for our Big God. Here, we are able to reconcile the broken our hurt parts of our ourselves. Dr. Vanes been a pastor's wife for 15 years and is trained in integrated counseling with Masters degrees in Theology, Clinical Psychology, and Intercultural Studies from Fuller Theological Seminary, and a Master's in Clinical Psychology: Marriage and Family Therapy from Azusa Pacific Universality. Jace Draper is an LMFT with an MA from Azusa Pacific.

As a Christian who is also a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, I chose to receive my undergraduate and graduate degree from a Christian university. I did this because I believe that God has designed all of the proven therapeutic priniciples and truly wants to help hurting people. This training has helped me to utilize a Christian World View to solve psychological problems. As most of my clients are Christians, I pray for them before each session and with them if they desire.

While most Christian Counselors pride themselves on how many Scriptural passages they can recite and how many links they can make from the Bible to psychological disorders, the Christian-centric work of Grey Matters International, Inc.is grounded in one principle: truth. For us, the work is more about truth and transparency of Christ's message and working on the natural laws of accountability and decision making that evolves from that. I am a Christian faith-based therapist with my office at my church. Everything we go through is a spiritual challenge. Our ability to handle life is based on our connection with God. When we are tight, (in vertical alignment), we are able to handle our challenges and follow as He requires. When we not as tight, we fight, control, argue, decieve ourselves and don't allow God to lead us as He needs. Surrender is vital to Christian life and therapy.

I received both my masters and doctoral degrees, along with related training, at Rosemead School of Psychology, one of the leading schools in the country focused on the integration of Christian faith and understanding of human nature with clinical counseling. Faith and spirituality can provide comfort and meaning to those guided by their beliefs. I was raised in a Christian household myself so I have an appreciation for the values instilled by religion, the importance of tradition, and the strength of community. My approach to counseling is humanistic and welcoming of all spiritualities. Though I do not incorporate any specific pastoral counsel, I encourage my spiritual clients to draw on their beliefs during the counseling process.
