MA counselor (LPC candidate)
Location: 7050 w. 120th Ave. Unit 121, broomfield
Coming from a Christian background and a master's from a seminary, spirituality is the lens through which I practice. My true belief is that lasting and thorough healing comes from identifying oneself with the perspective of God. For someone to truly work through an issue, they must have motivation and drive, otherwise their is really nothing keeping them from changing. I believe that faith is essential for finding balance and restoration in one's life. Although this is my belief, I do not discriminate from clients who are questioning their faith or who have no faith to begin with. I am open with my clients that although I will not force my beliefs onto them, Christianity is my framework.

Having been trained for almost 8 years in bibilcal and Christian spirituality and counseling gives me a varied background on which to help people struggling with loss of trust issues as well as give them encouragement through scriptural messages. Prayer is also encouraged and used when requested. Understanding God's place in our lives tends to give us meaning and encouragement as well as direction when we seek forgiveness, atonement and peace.

I am a Christian personally, and I also can incorporate Christian values and beliefs into my practice as much or as little as each client would like. At my practice, there is an atmosphere of freedom for each client to explore and discuss any spiritual or religious questions or struggles that they might have. I am a firm believer in the fact that Jesus is the true healer of our deepest pain and difficulties.

The Christian life is a journey where one can face challenges and struggles from a biblical and Godly based view of creation, humanness and health/wholeness. I have broad training in Judeo-Christian, theologically based values and counseling to assist clients on their journey. My seminary training includes Counseling, Leadership & Spirituality that I apply to the growth and healing process of therapy.

Lesley Goth, PsyD.
Owner of Lions Gate Counseling, LLC
Location: 10955 Westmoor Drive, Suite 400, Westminster
My approach to Christian counseling is first and foremost based on the person of Jesus, not the religion of Christianity. An experience of grace, love and truth, is my goal for you to have in my office. More often then not, the religion of Christianity, or people who profess to be strong believers, have done more damage then good for people. Legalism, shame, control, have typically caused more trauma then true freedom and healing. My goal is to help people who are seeking Christian counseling find truth, love, grace and healing while discarding lies and laws then have created a distance and lack of trust in their God and faith.

Licensed Professional Counselor

I believe that God's handprints are all over psychotherapy. He is after all The Healer. Many Christians believe in medicine as God's way of restoring our physical health; the realm of psychotherapy is God's way of restoring our mental, emotional and spiritual health. Since I work with clients from any spiritual perspective, I ask about spiritual orientation. If it's clear that you want an approach that incorporates a Biblically based faith, I will bring that element into our work. My orientation toward Christian Counseling is based on the philosophy of Christian psychologists John Townsend and Henry Cloud. I have attended their Intensive workshops for both leadership and counseling.

I believe in one God, creator of all. I believe that God loves us and forgives us. I believe God speaks to us if we only listen. I believe God wants the best for us. No matter where you are, God is there with you to protect you and guide you. I pray for my clients during my own prayer time and will pray with you during a session. I believe being a psychotherapist is my calling and I allow the Spirit to lead me during my sessions with clients. I will always remember that you are God's child and treat you with love and respect.

A person's faith influence how one interprets all of life. Facing a struggle in life without this faith can feel lacking or insufficient, void of a deeper meaning faith entails. Experiencing counseling from a Christian lens allows one's perspective into the counseling process, where introspective and change can occur in conjunction by Christian beliefs. This allows a level of comfort, knowing the process will never challenge one's foundational Christian beliefs.

I am a Christian and thus offer Christian based therapies. I received my MA from Denver Seminary where I was theologically and clinically trained. I specialize in Spiritual Formation and Direction. These come from a Transformational approach to psychotherapy which place all things in right relation to God as the Creator and Sustainer of all life. Through these approaches the Bible will be upheld. My approaches in this realm incorporate aspects of friendship, director, teacher, disciple, counselor, and collaborator.

While most Christian Counselors pride themselves on how many Scriptural passages they can recite and how many links they can make from the Bible to psychological disorders, the Christian-centric work of Grey Matters International, Inc.is grounded in one principle: truth. For us, the work is more about truth and transparency of Christ's message and working on the natural laws of accountability and decision making that evolves from that. If one honors God's natural laws of reaping and sowing around the decisions one makes, one is indeed living Scripture to its fullest. We prepare the brain to better maximize the spiritual realities of Christ's words. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
