Christian counseling is a form of therapy that integrates spiritual beliefs and principles with traditional counseling techniques. It aims to uphold Christian values and teachings while offering support to individuals dealing with mental health and personal issues. i base my approach on Scripture and prayer to help individuals find inner peace, resilience, and a sense of purpose. I am trained to deal with issues such as marital problems, addiction, grief, and stress, among others. Overall, Christian counseling is an effective way to enrich an individual's mental, emotional, and spiritual growth.

Christian counselling focused on care for body, soul and spirit, and aims to help you regain a sense of hope for your life that is rooted in in Jesus. Such counselling tries to use psychological tools in service of Christianity, keeping God and truth at the centre of treatment.

As a Bible following Christian who was raised in a Christian family, I have my foundations based on the Biblical teachings. The world is becoming a difficult place to live and understand by the day, let alone raising children (if you do!). Being Christians does not stop you from having those doubts or thoughts that could be frowned upon in a church or family set up, if you have them- IT IS OK, therapy with me can be a safe space to process them and even finding some answers together without judgement. Being both a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist and an Ordained Minister of 12 years, I respectfully integrate both psychological and Christian elements in my counselling. You will gain a sense of balance between Biblical and psychological perspectives as you work through your tough situations. To me, the greatest part of being a Christian is being Christ-like, meaning, looking at each and every individual as a worthwhile human being, created for a purpose. When people stop believing in themselves, I like to help them get back on track and feel good about themselves. I’ve successfully worked with disadvantaged kids, the elderly, troubled teens, ashamed individuals, and couples feeling hopeless. I see my clients through the Lord’s eyes, as precious and valuable, and I do my best to help them look at themselves that way. I strongly believe in divine forgiveness and lack of judgment, which allows people in the darkest places to forgive themselves and have hope for a better future.

Trained at McMaster Divinity College and a former Pastor with a wide range of experience with most of the denominations, your beliefs are respected and you can be at ease knowing that you do not have to conform or comply to the beliefs of another. The problems one encounters can be examined through a theological lens for those holding Christian, Jewish, Biblical world views. A Biblical reflection can be like a breath of fresh air.

The counselling I do as a christian caring for christian clients includes incorporating a christian-world view. I will go where the client wants to go, whether that means exploring their understanding of God as Creator, Father, Lord and/or Saviour, or their understanding of spiritual practices and how this is improving or impeding their walk, as individuals or as part of community of faith. It might also mean talking about guilt, shame or their ambivalence with today's Church. I love these conversations and understand that we have a huge resources when we consider God's truth in relationships, work or where ever you find yourself stuck.

It is a particular passion of mine to work with clients who would like to bring their faith and their spirituality into counselling. I believe that integrating solid, evidence-based counselling with the healing power of God through the use of Prayer, Scripture and simply the explicit welcoming of God into our conversation, brings the potential of great healing and hope for individuals. It is always the choice of the particular individual/client, whether or not and to what degree they would like to integrate their faith and spirituality explicitly into the counselling process.
