The counselling I do as a christian caring for christian clients includes incorporating a christian-world view. I will go where the client wants to go, whether that means exploring their understanding of God as Creator, Father, Lord and/or Saviour, or their understanding of spiritual practices and how this is improving or impeding their walk, as individuals or as part of community of faith. It might also mean talking about guilt, shame or their ambivalence with today's Church. I love these conversations and understand that we have a huge resources when we consider God's truth in relationships, work or where ever you find yourself stuck.

For those committed to Christ and to Christian living, it's sometimes important to do counselling with someone who shares your values. I have spent my life in the study and teaching of Scriptures, and am aware of the vast variety and riches available to us in our different Christian traditions. I welcome those from any of these traditions. Together we can use counselling insights and approaches, working within the framework of traditional and emerging Christian thought and practice, as we work on understanding and resolving the various issues and concerns you bring into counselling.

I am a Spiritual Director. Through my upbringing as a third generation Holocaust survivor I have learned through my family the strength of will and survival of Judaism. When people come to me they are looking for a larger presence in their lives. I am able to help others find faith and hope and reconnect to G-D. Something needs to shift in order to be able to reconnect. If it is darkness you see then I will guide you to the light. I will help guide you towards the wisdom you already have within you. I will help you find your passion again. When you know what you don't want, you will know what you want. I will sit with you for as long as it takes for you to create new hope and faith.

I am trained in Spiritual Direction as well as Clinical counselling. Conversations about Christianity and the role of God are an important part of my work with clients who are seeking Christian counselling. I welcome your thoughts and issues about how to see the opportunity for growth in faith, or how God maybe found in the process through His Word, or how to develop a deeper relationship with God. I offer non-judgmental counselling with compassion, We can work together through guilt, shame, grief, anxiety, depression, stress, sexuality, spiritual discernment and issues in relationship.

My Masters degrees are from Christian university and my program had a spiritual/pastoral component. This means I am able to talk about spirituality and how important it can be for healing and coping in your life. I am open-minded so I know this faith/belief takes many forms for many different people. We can start with chatting about how faith and spirituality has been for you. We can also not talk about this or make this part of your healing journey. It needs to be about you and comfort level and needs. My approach is spiritual rather than religious in nature. I support people that may feel a traditional religion harmed them and are trying to heal this so it can still be a part life.

With the fast pace and challenges of life, you do not have to face them alone. Sometimes you need a helping hand and a friendly ear to talk to. It's my passion to help people. I offer counselling and psychotherapy for individuals, couples and families. I work with clients to improve their resiliency, and uncover their strengths using a client centered approach and different modalities to meet needs .

As a Christian I believe that deep inner transformation can occur as I use my counselling skills in partnership with God's healing grace in the lives of my clients. For those who embrace other faiths or no faith position I am careful and sensitive to respect their spiritual choices. For those who desire a Christian perspective on their emotional and spiritual needs I am very comfortable to include this as an integral part of therapy.

Being both a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist and an Ordained Minister of 12 years, I respectfully integrate both psychological and Christian elements in my counselling. You will gain a sense of balance between Biblical and psychological perspectives as you work through your tough situations. You will become more Christlike in your struggle and decision making process.

It is a particular passion of mine to work with clients who would like to bring their faith and their spirituality into counselling. I believe that integrating solid, evidence-based counselling with the healing power of God through the use of Prayer, Scripture and simply the explicit welcoming of God into our conversation, brings the potential of great healing and hope for individuals. Within a Biblical framework, counselling becomes an even richer process. A Biblical base simply means that the therapist believes that all human beings were created in the image of God, intended for relationship and designed with the capacity for growth and change. Forgiveness, personal empowerment, learning to love self and other are critical parts of the process. Jesus said "I came to heal the broken hearted" and at some point, most of us would love to sink into that compassionate offer. Biblical based counselling does not infer any judgement or inflexibility within the therapeutic process.

My approach to counselling is attachment based and trauma informed. I have extensive training in emotionally focused therapy, the gold standard in couple's therapy, which I apply in my work with couples, families, and individuals. Emotionally focused therapy closely parallels the Christian faith in how it understands human personhood and connection. I am trained through a biblical lens and comfortable including faith in the work we will do. During our sessions I take an engaged and active role in the process, focused on helping you to identify the areas where you may be stuck and working with you to make changes aligned with your goals and faith.

While most Christian Counselors pride themselves on how many Scriptural passages they can recite and how many links they can make from the Bible to psychological disorders, the Christian-centric work of Grey Matters International, Inc.is grounded in one principle: truth. Many years ago while I asked God for a career path, He hired me to work in His counselling profession. I received my integrated training (God's word/Psychology) at Trinity Western University. Since, I have been privileged to work hand-in-hand with God helping people heal their emotional/spiritual wounds, hurtful and often dehydrated relationships. If God hadn't invited me into His counselling profession, I would not be a counsellor today. To me, the greatest part of being a Christian is being Christ-like, meaning, looking at each and every individual as a worthwhile human being, created for a purpose. When people stop believing in themselves, I like to help them get back on track and feel good about themselves. I’ve successfully worked with disadvantaged kids, the elderly, troubled teens, ashamed individuals, and couples feeling hopeless. I see my clients through the Lord’s eyes, as precious and valuable, and I do my best to help them look at themselves that way. I strongly believe in divine forgiveness and lack of judgment, which allows people in the darkest places to forgive themselves and have hope for a better future.

I am a licensed practitioner with the Church of Religious Science which is a Christian based, non denominational, church. The foundational doctrines in this church follow the truth of Jesus' teachings. A fundamental teaching of this perspective is that God is love, and as such, Jesus is the representation of God, or love, in human form. We all have the potential to be "Christ conscious" and just as Jesus said, we all are capable of doing even greater works than he (John 14:12). My work as a Christian counsellor is not as adherent to a particular religious dogma as most, but rather broader, less dogmatic, and more firmly seated in the actual teachings of Jesus.
