As a Christian, I greatly appreciate how faith and spirituality play a role in our daily lives. Christian counselling takes into consideration the mental, physical and spiritual needs of a client to help them on a path to wholeness and purpose. Christian counselling begins from a place of unconditional acceptance for clients and takes counselling beyond the realm of simply seeing, feeling and knowing. Through spirit led counselling, the root of problems is revealed, eliminating the inner blocks that can keep us from experiencing fulfillment in relationships and life. I believe that true transformation comes from renewal of the mind (Rom 12:2) and that through God’s power we can become, achieve, and experience more joy and peace than we ever thought possible!

I hold a Masters of Divinity in Clinical Counselling from Tyndale University. I also spent over 20 years involved in various Christian Leadership roles. I do not practice or hold to this religion any longer. In my clinical work, I work with clients who are processing spiritual abuse/trauma and I regularly work with clients who are navigating deconstruction. I believe it is important to clarify, I am affirming and fully accepting of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. I consider myself an ally to this community. In my clinical work, I consider it an honour to work with members of this community who have been wounded by the Christian Church.

Within a Biblical framework, counselling becomes an even richer process. A Biblical base simply means that the therapist believes that all human beings were created in the image of God, intended for relationship and designed with the capacity for growth and change. Forgiveness, personal empowerment, learning to love self and other are critical parts of the process. Jesus said "I came to heal the broken hearted" and at some point, most of us would love to sink into that compassionate offer. Biblical based counselling does not infer any judgement or inflexibility within the therapeutic process.
