All couples at one point or another experience difficulties in their relationship. Whether married, about to get married, cohabitating, lesbian, gay, etc. all couples eventually face challenges in their relationship. Infatuation and admiration subside and being vulnerable with each other feels unsafe. However, this is also where real love in the relationship can be nurtured and kept alive. I work with couples struggling in their relationship on improving communication and working to understand each other's realistic wants and needs better while restoring emotional safety in the relationship.

In working with couples, my goal is to discover what each individual wants from the relationship, and collaborate to get there. Several topics that we cover in couples counseling are: improving communication skills, finding ways to compromise and resolve conflict, forgiveness, and exploring ways to create balance in the relationships. Another essential task of couples counseling is to discover how each individual expresses care and affection. Getting on the same page on how each of you gives and receives love is a great step towards deepening your connection to one another.
