When couples come in for treatment, Reesa works with the couple to better understand where they are in their relationship and what they want to get out of the sessions. From there Reesa partners with the couple to explore the patterns that are causing strain on the relationship. Once the patterns are identified, education can be provided to increase skills and insight on antidotes for those patterns to support the couple achieving their goals for treatment. Reesa is a trained Level II Gottman Therapist along with being a Gottman Leader for "The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work."

Our intimate relationships are the place we search for the greatest meaning and are, ironicaly, the field most rich in landmines. Whatever is not worked through in us will be activated in these most important relationships. Learning your own sensitivities and your own 'buttons' as you learn those of your partner can transform your relationship from one of hostility to one of deep support and love. I have experienced this transformation firsthand many times and it is a privilege to see relationships restored and rebuilt on a healthy, solid foundation.

Of all the currently used theories regarding couples' therapy, EFT has the best outcomes for couples with 7:10 couples showing improvement over a three-year period.

Couples come in all sorts of configurations, from Mommy/baby, to employer/employee, to parent/child/adoles. and of course husbands/partners/wives. Each of these couples are tremendously intimate and are often the very place we act out, feel grave disappointments and experiences some of our highest joys. This can be an optimum place of growth for both participants. It takes courage, honesty and a willingness to look inward and outward.
