My goal in working with couples is to teach them ways to communicate effectively and find healthy avenues to get their needs met in a relationship. We will explore concepts like validation and the ways in which it serves as a uniting force. Further, I find that it's helpful to teach clients about " love languages" and the ways in which understanding this idea can help people to begin to speak the language of their partner, and begin feeling heard for the first time.

In Couple’s Counseling; I accept the view that as individual we are complex beings who are multifaceted and therefore multi-storied. So in working with a couple, I try to balance the conversation, so that each feels heard. My aim is be neutral to each, as much as possible. So in the initial session we collaborate in setting ground rules. I encourage autonomy so each know his/her right to govern their own freedom of choices and behaviors. I steer away from cookie cutter activities as I believe that in the process of therapy client will use their resources to find their own path that work for their relationship. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy.
