I provide a nonjudgmental approach when working with couples. I assist couples in recognizing repeating patterns of distress and help better manage or reconcile troublesome differences by empowering them with new tools to use to overcome their conflicts. We can’t change difficult situations of the past, but we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life and in your relationship.

I teach practical relationship skills that encourage persons to return to and maximize the positive feeling in their relationships. When we learn to discern the difference between our own healthy and unhealthy states of mind, we can eliminate useless arguments that drain a couple's energy. Couples learn to pause when stuck and choose useful times and places to sort out conflicts. Without the energy drain of fighting, couples experience a boost of connection and fun and creatively resolve conflict with less effort. We all like to be heard. Learning to practice true listening, returns people to the loving feeling of connection that brought them together in the first place.

Are you thinking about divorce? Did you find that your partner is cheating on you? Are you struggling with your partner's addictions, ADHD, Asperger's Disorder, anxiety, or depression? Do you feel like you do not know how to communicate with your partner anymore? When we experience relational problems, it is so painful that our automatic reaction is to give up. But there are ways to communicate better with your partner so that you feel like you are emotionally reconnected with your partner again. Staying away from each other is not a solution to avoid conflicts and it actually creates more problems. Couples counseling will help you to teach how to communicate with your partner.
