Many things can cause depression so Susan assesses carefully to discover contributing factors. Susan provides support and guidance to help you find your own customized treatment approach. Maybe you've never processed a legacy of hurt or painful circumstances from the past and need to understand, grieve, and let go of what happened. Maybe you need encouragement to change patterns, habits, or choices that are no longer working for you. Susan is supportive of your choices regarding pharmaceuticals, herbs, amino acids, or nutraceuticals that support neurotransmitter balance in the brain. Susan also utilizes E.M.D.R. and N.E.T. when appropriate, as these techniques can bring fast relief.

We all do our best to have an abundance of hope in our lives. Sometimes circumstances, emotional wreckage and frustration prevent our reaching our goals and expectations. By identifying the emotional toll charged by an endless cycle of frustration, a personal plan of growth will be put in place. This approach short-circuits frustration and provides hope now and into tomorrow. Dr. Eljay has 20 years of counseling experience in lessening this burden.

I have worked with people suffering from severe depression for over 25 years. Depression is an overwhelming experience, but advances in neuroscience offer strategies that can really help people move past the depression and get there lives back. Additionally, working closely with an attuned, empathetic therapist can make all the difference and can offer real hope.

Depression can be so cunning because many of us don't even know we are struggling with it. The problem is Depression makes facing it seem like climbing a mountain without the will to do so. I provide understanding and motivation to clients struggling with Depression. I work with clients who may not want to use medication as part of the solution and others who may need talk therapy in addition to medication. There is hope, and you are not alone.

Depression can present as a low grade depression "I never really feel light hearted and happy' or as a Severe Depression that can be agonizing and debilitating 'I don't know how to ever get out of this dark hole'. Depression attacks the Sense of Self. Most often it is early life experiences that contribute to a person's vulnerability to depression. I like to work with EMDR, a trauma treatment method that helps the brain to process painful experiences from the Past and integrate those experiences into a healthier Here and Now. EMDR can support the person to leave the depressed state of Helplessness and supports the person to build Strengths and 'to come out of the shell' into a stronger Self.
