Depression is one of the most common mental health struggles, often making every day functioning feel like an enormous task and taking the joy out of life. It is also very treatable. We will explore the physical, emotional, psychological, social, and spiritual parts of how depression is impacting you and come up with interventions to treat each of these parts. We will monitor your progress with an inventory that will demonstrate your progress over time so that you can be the judge of how effective your treatment is. I'd like to partner with you on your goals to not just overcome depression, but to find the path to an abundant and joy-filled life of meaning, purpose, and peace.

Do your depressive, ruminative thoughts emerge from the depression? Or do the thoughts trigger the experience of depression? The answer is Yes! Knowing the thought patterns involved and how you came to develop them and give them so much power lays the groundwork for shifting the depression. Those thought patterns evolve from numerous life experiences, often enhanced by changes in brain chemistry. While there are critical pieces for understanding and shifting the experience of depression, I choose and adapt the endless variety of tools according to your particular set of life stories. Bring a willingness, a commitment to be adventurous in your approach to the depression experience.

Depression is the common cold of our society. Most of us will experience it at some time. Typically, we are depressed because of something we have lost, something that has changed, or because we have been hurt. Some of us are sensitive and get hurt/depressed easily. I believe happiness is a series of choices that we can make regarding things that are in within our control.
