Depression Counseling in Five Forks, SC.

Here at New Creations Counseling Center clients will learn how to battle and be set free from depression through the power of God and the Holy scriptures. Clients will learn how to grow closer in their walk with God so that the power of God will be able to override depression and replace it with beauty, strength, gladness, and peace. (Isaiah 61:1-3). Clients will also benefit through a warm, friendly, confidential, and healthy relationship with a professionally skilled therapist.

Every body faces difficult times in their lives. When those times cause acute stress, there can be serious depression that sets in on an individual. There is situational depression and then there is clinical depression. The client will benefit from a knowledge and experiential understanding of how to apply Biblical principles to their depression.

My approach with depressed persons depends on cause/source of depression and type; clinical vs situational depression. In cases of clinical depression, I work closely with the person's physician to ensure safety and coordination of goals, monitoring of symptoms, and ensuring adequate support systems. I help clients formulate methods to express their pain, identify source, process events impacting their life, identify personal resources, and determine their choices for the future. I focus their attention on personal identity strengths and vulnerabilities and help them navigate a pathway to future possibilities. I often use healing prayer and imagery to help them heal their pain.
