Often managing our feelings when disappointing events occur, is the most challenging of all things in our life. We may act out towards others with anger, resentment, and or try to make others to blame for our feelings Other times, we may punish ourselves for the circumstances we are in or how we view events. Depression is often thought of as the acting in process. Not being able to stop self punishment leads to a depressed sense of self esteem. Thinking of ourselves as being unable to speak, move forward leads to actions that have debilitating effects on your social life. Clients I work with learn to view themselves from a loving accepting perspective.
