Food is essential for life. However an eating disorder such as anorexia, bulimia, binge eating or over eating is a painful and compulsive life drama. Eating disorders affect both males and females from a variety of backgrounds and age groups. Cognitive Behavior Therapy is often a most useful approach to eating disorders. A CBT approach emphasizes recognition and identification of negative thought patterns and the way in which they have contributed to an individual's approach towards food and body image. By increasing self-awareness, together we can increase positive emotions.
