Although quite sophisticated in presentation, eating disorders nonetheless most simply reflect a way of coping with the stressors so associated with daily life. When feeling threatened and insecure, life or themselves not as perfect as expected, one turns to what is most appreciably thus within their immediate control. Through the manipulation of food, moods as well body image are altered to the albeit distorted, yet desired effect. As much of personal concern, there is also a strong social component, the person suffering not living completely in isolation. Counseling eating disorders offers help to both individual and family for arriving at better ways to face life's ongoing challenges.
