I conduct Pre-Operative Bariatric Surgery Psychological Evaluations and therapy in a nonjudgmental therapeutic environment for those suffering from a food addiction. Since eating disorders are poor behavioral patterns, treatment focuses on understanding the emotional conflicts causing the desire and patterns to overeat. Many compulsive overeaters were abused as children and must learn to cope with trauma before they can conquer their addiction. Food addiction can be very dangerous to a person's physical health as compulsive overeaters often suffer from diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, kidney disease, or arthritis, along with chronic pain and limited mobility.
