I often open my family therapy sessions by asking each individual to briefly tell me how they would like this meeting to go. I ask them to address their statements when it is there turn to speak to the individual involved and to make eye contact. I ask the individual listener to not interrupt the speaker and sometimes to tell me back what the person has stated, I educate in ongoing sessions, theory regarding speaking directly to a family member and not getting others to pass on a message. I teach communication (listening) and role theory. This can be fun and I encougage laughter. I love this work.

He has facilitaed parenting groups and worked with children as young as three years old and granparents who were in their eighties. It is his experience that families can enjoy, help, and grow together and most of the time it takes far less work than what they expected.
