You cannot control the waves, but you can learn how to surf. I believe in an integrative approach, tailored to you. In a culture that often avoids talking about loss, therapy offers support in a safe and nonjudgmental environment. It is the opportunity to begin the healing process in sharing your story, coping skills to help you through the most difficult days of your grief journey, the opportunity to discover new traditions and ideas to keep loved ones present in your heart and memories, permission to grieve and permission to live a productive life.

The Experiential model of working through the Bereavement process to Grief provides a safe and structured environment for the client to teach the therapist about their personal experience. Experiential techniques allow for the emotional healing and self- compassion desired when working through grief. The mindfulness component of the experiential approach places focus on the present externalizing of emotions, thoughts, and behaviors to help the client experience the process holistically with the outcome of acceptance, self- kindness, and restructuring of new routines, new future, and new sense of self.

Loss comes in many forms; death, divorce, a home, or a job and everyone grieves in a different way. One common thing is that it can be lonely and frightening. Life coaching for grief and loss with me will provide you with validation of the many emotions you are feeling, comfort and support through the grieving process, and permission to let joy back in your heart and happiness back in your life.

Understanding the process of grief and experiencing our resilience is the cornerstone to getting back to living. Grief and loss does not only apply to the death of a loved one. We experience loss and grieving in relationships, losing pets, and even when relocating and leaving our support system behind. I believe in utilizing established supports and forming new ones to aid in healing and moving forward.

I have worked with many clients who have grappled with grief and loss, and my primary approach with this issue is to nurture a sense of safety in my clients during session so that they can connect with the creative intelligence within them that knows how to process loss in a healthy manner. I teach clients about "clean pain" vs "dirty pain" so that they can navigate through the grieving process without becoming entangled in the storytelling tendency of the mind that tends to prolong suffering.
