I watched my son walk to the bus stop on his first day of high school and thought "This is the beginning of the end". When he left for college four years later, I cried for three days. A new season in our relationship was beginning. And that also meant one was ending. Such losses and their ensuing grief, are on a continuum with death at one end and relationships changing on the other.
